New Facial Animation Pipeline
Live captured facial animations are going to be the next challenge as game makers and actors in Turtle’s Quest.
Moving to Unreal we could not make use of the old face animation system. That’s a bit annoing because the old system was easy and effective – so long 🙁 .
This, on the other end, challenged us to move forward and find a way to animate dialogs and gameplay face expressions in a more realistic and complete way.
Here is a test with a sample content from the Brekel system remapped in out favorite character face.
It’s not perfect and might look weird but the important part was to test the pipeline.
